Experiences at Winter Fantasy

Playing with paper and a book was just fine and fun. I’d have missed a lot of stuff if it had been done for me. I still missed stuff.

Character complexity increased but it didn’t seem to have a detrimental effect on the game. We got the same amount of stuff done in the same time but it took some work to rework how our characters work. Lots of stacking effects off of actions.

The evolution of first person shooters as a metaphor for D&D. A move to simpler focused RPGs?

A lot of adventures try to stray away from core D&D. Their need to both work with D&D 5e characters at various levels and tiers and also create an experience that lasts almost precisely 4 hours makes design really hard.
